Happy New Year! Do resolutions evoke sticky feelings of restriction, anxiety, and austerity? Or, is it a liberating fresh start, a chance to conjure up excitement for the blank calendar ahead? In a culture of constant self-optimization, the pressure to make everything run smoother, faster, better, leaner, we asked some friends of the blog — food, drink, and hospitality professionals — what their food-adjacent New Year’s goals are. Some are big and ambitious (host more dinner parties, feed their kids more greens), and some are tiny and personal (eat more black pepper, take more pictures).
