Have you noticed that celery sodas are everywhere right now? At Pasta Night, it’s on the menu as a $7 celery, black pepper, white vinegar, and lemon Italian soda. At Bonnie’s, you’ll find a soda made with cilantro, celery, lemon, salt, sugar, and MSG (“basically gatorade,” in their words). In addition to being refreshing in the literal sense, this wave of new-school celery sodas is a refreshingly savory alternative to the usual fruity, very sweet nonalcoholic menu items.
