No Garlic at the Met Gala Because Anna Wintour Said So

Nobody goes to the Met Gala for the food. A couple of years ago, actress Keke Palmer risked a reinvite by posting a photo of a plate with what could very well be from a buffet at a legal convention in Iowa. Singer Teyana Taylor once snuck in a bag of Chick-fil-A to the event despite the dissuasion from fellow musicians Push T and Usher, because a girl’s gotta eat. 

But like this year’s Black Dandyism theme, the gala’s food promised pomp, circumstance, and flavor, helmed by chef Kwame Onwuachi of the famed Afro-Caribbean restaurant Tatiana.
