Earlier this week, I stopped into Butterfield Market, the Upper East Side’s version of Erewhon and the birthplace of the dot cake. Among the Brandy Melville-clad teens hunting for froyo and linen-swathed seniors shopping for tubs of deli salads were some of the most expensive potato chips I’ve ever seen.
